This workshop teaches the steps in creating tree forms in watercolor: branches, trunks, and light. 

Some of the topics covered are scene selection, composition and focal point, use of color, use of contrast and methods of applying paint to get the perfect aesthetic and texture.
This workshop is for all skill levels

Join Chef Lara on a culinary world tour! 
Our first excursion will be to South Korea where we’ll tantalize our taste buds using fresh and authentic ingredients to create some of Asia’s most celebrated dishes. 
What’s on the menu?  Mandu-pork dumplings, kimchi, and fried rice!

In this class, participants will utilize a holiday color scheme or select their own preferred palette to design and create a fused glass charcuterie tray or plate.  The tray measures 6 inches by 10 inches, perfect for presenting a variety of soft cheeses and condiments.  The piece is designed using a fused glass stack technique.  A matching spreader will compliment this tray/plate and make it a great holiday gift for yourself or someone else.

During this 3 hour workshop, you’ll create 2 - 4 Christmas ornaments. 

You will select your ornament shape from a collection of patterns or cookie cutters, or bring your own favorite cookie cutter. We’ll have a collection of stamps and texture rollers to select from, too. The ornaments will be uniquely yours.

Catch a Culinary Culprit: A Whodunit Mystery w/ Chef Lara! 

Put your detective hat on and your apron at the ready—Chef Lara needs your help to crack a culinary caper! 

This themed cooking class blends hands-on kitchen skills with a mystery that you and the other detectives will solve using all five senses.

Costumes are optional, but encouraged to ramp up the fun—just be sure you’re comfy enough to cook!

Join us for a one-day, three-hour still life painting class designed for adults of all levels of experience who are looking to sharpen their artistic skills.

Watercolor Flower Workshop.  Capturing the beauty of flowers in watercolor, you’ll learn to paint using various techniques to understand shapes and shadows.

In this class we will be creating a 6” x 8” landscape, with a focus on the beautiful and abundant trees which are all around us in western North Carolina.  We will be using glass enamels, glass powders, and a variety of glasses and stringers to create this piece.

Improve your figure drawing in a three-hour figure drawing workshop and practice session with Helena Jolanta Tueffel.  The session will begin with a 20-minute overview focusing on proportion and value. Then, we will draw from life and Helena will offer in-progress critiques to help you improve your "eye" and your work.
