BOO! Ceramic Ghosts Workshop with DeAnna Steiner

Join DeAnna for a fun workshop devoted to spooky ghosts! In this 3 hour workshop you will create a roughly 4-5” tall luminary ghost. You can make it scary or funny. This is a great workshop for beginners of all ages, and it’s a fun way to spend some time with your family, too. Children are welcome to join their parent(s) for this workshop, and they will receive 10% off the class price if they do.
All materials are provided and no clay experience is needed. Just bring your imagination and wear comfortable clothes.

DeAnna Steiner took her first pottery class at Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh NC in 1998. It was an introductory class to wheel throwing. It was so challenging, but seeing the clay respond to slight changes in movement was just magical. She was hooked!

Steiner continued to work in information technology at IBM. In her free time, she took numerous workshops and classes to expand her knowledge and hone her skills. She learned new throwing techniques, transitioned to handbuilding, and explored surface design methods. There was always something new to learn. There still is.

Now, Steiner lives in her childhood home in Morganton, NC. In 2020, she started Fig & Owl Studio and devoted all her energy to improving her craft and sharing what she loves with other people in her community. She’s recently started teaching and it is so rewarding.
