Intro to Watercolor for Kids with Lyvia Turpin

Children will immerse themselves in the wide and wonderful world of watercolor during this three hour workshop designed to teach the mediums’ various methods and techniques. Students will spend the first half of the workshop learning ten watercolor techniques. They will spend the second half of the workshop applying those techniques to a painting that they will create from a simple sketch.  Limited space is available. Please register early!

Lyvia Turpin is a painter and printmaker born and raised in Drexel, NC. She moved to New York in 2021 to pursue higher education and broaden her horizons. In 2025, she graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts Printmaking and a minor in History of Art. She has since moved back home, as distance does in fact make the heart grow fonder, and she is passionate about finding and creating community right here in Burke County.
