About the Night

  • This open mic creates a welcoming space for people who live in or wander near Burke County to gather and share poems aloud. Bring your voice, your favorite lines, or simply come to listen and soak in the evening.

How to Participate

  • Read or recite your own original work;

  • Share a poem by another writer that speaks to you;

  • Or come to listen and enjoy the community.

Please sign up (Click link here to Sign-Up) in advance to read or recite using the sign-up link.
Performance limit: 8 minutes per performer; a second reading may be possible if time permits.  If time allows, walk-up participants may be invited to share one or two poems.

Whether you’ve just written your first poem or have published collections, join us in the magical performance space at Burke Arts Council to share and celebrate poetry.
